Kisses
Every time I give Little Bo Peep a kiss I always say, "KISSES," right before we kiss. Tonight she was giving me "kisses!" We were playing on the couch and she kept leaning over and giving me kisses! She is too cute!

It's Finished!
Our patio is finally done! We worked so hard this weekend to make our backyard look great! We had some friends over to celebrate our finished patio and Memorial Day all at once. We had so much fun!

Little Girls
Little girls always want their ears pierced. I have never heard anyone say "I really wish I DIDN'T have my ears pierced." So we got Little Bo Peep's ears pierced today! She was fine til that gun shot the earring into her ear... She screamed. Then she calmed down but the second ear still had to be pierced... When she saw the gun coming to her second ear she started to scream again, only this time she didn't calm down. After the screaming stopped she proceeded to wimper for about an hour.
She has no idea what is coming...
She wouldn't stop looking at the lady and let her place the marks for the piercings.
So sad...

Bye-bye
Today my dad came over to help Brad take down our UGLY awning. After it came down I could not believe how much bigger our house looked. I told Brad "It looks like a real house!"
Daddy and Brad taking it down!
It's almost gone!
Bye-bye!
The only flower that was damaged :(

Shots
Little Bo Peep had her four-month checkup today. She had to get the next series of shots, and she was such a trooper! Brad was holding her while she received them and she started to cry after the second shot but then started talking to the nurse. The nurse was encouraging her to talk through the pain. Then she cried for about 10 seconds after the fourth shot. See mom I told you shots were fun, even Little Bo Peep doesn't mind them!

Sleeping Beauty
Little Bo Peep had a great nap schedual going for several weeks, but last week something changed. Her naps have been thrown for a loop and I she is taking a lot of half hour naps. Fortunatly she isn't grumpy, but I know she isn't getting the sleep she needs. Right now though she is sleeping soundly, maybe this is the start of her going back on track. Or maybe her grwoth spurt is over for the week, either way she is our

Sunny Days
It was so nice today! Little Bo Peep was still quite playful after her bath so I took her on a walk hoping she would go to sleep. It worked but not before she got to see some beautiful sunshine.

Potting
Today I was planting flowers for my container garden that will go on our patio we are putting up this weekend. Little Bo Peep woke up from her nap so I brought her outside to help me. She was watching me so I started telling her how to pot flowers as I was potting. She sat there and watched me the whole time listening and learning. I guess the kiddy gardening kit I bought on sale at JoAnn's will come in handy next summer!

Daily Dose
The past month I have been sending daily e-mails to friends and family of Little Bo Peep. I know the abrupt ending of the e-mails has upset some of the daily recipients, but blogging about our daily happenings will be easier for me. Here are some of my favorite pictures of Little Bo Peep from the May Daily Dose:

Picking Up Daddy

My car died last summer. We didn't have the money to fix it or to buy a new car so we became a "one-car-family" a few months earlier than expected. Nine months later one car is still working out really well, until now. Now it's sprig in Michigan which means two things:

drab weather

and orange "flowers."
With construction everywhere Brad's connecter bus is coming and going before he gets to the transfer stop. Little Bo Peep and I picked him up on Wednesday and again today. Fortunately my mom lets me take her van to work some days so Brad can drive to work like he did yesterday, this is such a blessing.

So until we can figure something out or the barrels go away, Little Bo Peep and I will be "Picking Up Daddy" some days.

Batteries...
A co-worker of Brad's gave us this crib toy.

At first I thought, "This is dumb, I'm never going to use this." Then my mom said something about me changing Little Bo Peep's crib toys to keep her entertained, so I gave in and put a battery-operated toy in her crib. Turns out she LOVES the thing. After a few days she figured out how to change the song by kicking the moon button. She will shuffle through the songs till she gets to the song Brad sings to her when he is calming her down. The first few times she changed the song we thought it was an accident, but after a few times we knew she was in control. Now when she goes to bed she listens to her songs until she drifts off to sleep.

Laundry
Who enjoys laundry??? I DO!!! Now that I have my brand new washer and dryer! While I was at work this morning they came!!!

I held off on doing all my laundry until after they arrived. Of course the nerd I am, I had to sit and watch the first load...

Then I had to fold everything...

Looking at this picture I think, "Oh that's not much." Then I see it on the bed, YIKES!!!

My Little Over-achiever
Since the day she was born Little Bo Peep has been doing things she "shouldn't do yet." The day she was born she was holding her head up, after a few days we realized she liked to "stand" on our laps, and she has been lifting her head while laying on her stomach since she was about one-month-old. People have been giving me looks since day one like "Andi you're crazy, and a first time mom, you just don't know what you're talking about!" Then those people will hold her and the say to me (in a shocked voice as if I didn't already tell them) "She is SO strong!" What do you think I have been talking about?! Has everyone forgotten I have my B.A. in Early Child Edu. and that I've been working with kids since I was 19 (even earlier in Church nurseries)! I know what I'm talking about and my daughter is abnormally advanced in many of her development skills. This is her starting to sit up on her own.

Now if we can just get her to drive herself to the doctor we'll be all set...

Fraggle Rock
Fraggle Rock was one of my favorite shows growing up. Last year for my birthday my parents bought me the first season DVD of Fraggle Rock. A few months ago I found a Fraggle Rock t-shirt and then Friday night my sister-in-law gave Little Bo Peep this shirt that she bought from The Retro Baby. Now when Little Bo Peep and I watch the Fraggles we can wear our Fraggle Rock shirts!

Mother's Day
This was my first Mother's Day as a mom. Brad took Little Bo Peep out shopping the day before while I was at a friend's baby shower. He took her to Pier 1 to pick out a mug because I love unique mugs. This is the one she got excited about.

She and Brad woke me up Sunday morning with a hand-made card and a cinnamon roll along with a cup of tea in my new mug. Now whenever I drink my favorite tea from my Mother's Day mug I will always think of Little Bo Peep and our first Mother's Day.

Baby Shower
Today I went to a baby shower for a friend from college. They told everyone they are having a girl! I am so excited. Now our daughters can play together and have a girl friend among all the boys that are being born right now. I had a very strong feeling they were having a girl so I made some gender-specific Onesies and burp cloths.

A Simple Cube
When I bought this block while I was still pregnant with Little Bo Peep I thought it would be a fun toy for her, but never imagined it would become her favorite. I bought this cube because it has different textures and it smells like green apple. Little Bo Peep has a few Lamaze toys but this is by far her prime choice.

If it were up to me anything hippo would be her favorite, but she has made up her mind.

Can you tell which is my favorite animal?

Super Baby
Brad loves flying Little Bo Peep in the air and she too enjoys this game. Last night she started lifting her legs once she was in the air and squealing with delight. What a riot!

Tallie
I was on Split Coast Stampers the other day and came across a post about a little girl named Tallie and wanted to send some smiles to brighten her day. I had my pre-kindergarten class sign this card

and draw some pictures for her. They are so excited about sending her pictures and we have been praying for her during our Bible time.
I also sent her mom a card

along with some blank cards for her to use.

I hope the cards and drawings bring a smile to her face.
